Infrared Sauna Room- Design And Other Details

Unlike Finnish sauna therapy, infrared sauna therapy is a method that employs the infrared rays to heat the occupants of the infrared sauna room directly. This room is normally a wooden box that has many infrared heaters attached inside it.

It is not necessary to conduct an effective infrared sauna therapy inside a small room only. It can be conducted in open air also. The only thing that should be kept in mind is that the air should at least be a little warm so that the body of the steamist is cooled down by no other reason except sweating.

Apart from this, the indoor environment or the surrounding air in an infrared therapy does not hold much importance. So, the warm environment is created by the sauna room but the actual effect is made through infrared heaters.

However, it is better to use a sauna room for the infrared therapy so as to make sure that everything goes right. The radiant infrared rays emitted by the heaters inside the room are similar to that of the energy emitted by the sun, except for the fact that the former is safe and does not contain harmful UV rays as contained in the latter.

You may also invest money and design your own sauna room for the infrared therapy at your home. There are various electromagnetic equipment and accessories that are used in a sauna room and indeed they are the ones that are mainly responsible for an effective infrared sauna session. But a faulty design of sauna room can make the work of electromagnetic equipments ineffective.

So, roofing, wall structure and door of the sauna room are a few important factors that must be focused upon while designing the room. For instance, imagine that you have taken an infrared sauna session and you are about to step out of the infrared room. If like other doors, the handle of the door of your infrared room is also made of iron or steel, you might not be able to open the door after the session, as it would be too hot to touch.

So, while designing the room you must keep in mind to use a bad conductor of heat for the handles. A wooden handle product is certainly the best choice.

Similarly, the height of the ceiling of the infrared room should also be appropriate. Small sauna rooms may make it impossible for you to stay within them for long durations. On the other hand, when ceiling of infrared sauna room is taller, it may make it necessary for you to stay a lot longer than required for an effective infrared sauna bath experience. A ceiling height of 8' to 7' is appropriate for the ceiling of a sauna room.
